SapienStone: Jatoba Brown, natural vibrations

An intense and deep dark brown, like the earth of southern Brazil; veined and warm like the wood of the centuries-old trees that proliferate in the primary forests: this is the colour profile of Jatoba Brown, the quartzite that inspired the new 4D surface by SapienStone. It is an archaic and mysterious stone, which comes from the Brazilian subsoil and is the material of inspiration for the SapienStone 4D ceramic slabs (320×160 cm) and in two thicknesses (12 and 20 mm), capable of giving life to design scenarios in full harmony with contemporary luxury.

The dark hue, enlivened by fine, intense and varigated veins that fade from grey to beige, from copper to rust, gives Jatoba Brown 4D by SapienStone an innate ability to dialogue with other materials – woods, stones, metals, leather: a quality that also makes them ideal for vertical applications, as cladding for sophisticated residential environments or as a precious frame in contract projects, from hospitality to retail, from restaurants to boutiques, from offices to representative spaces.

The streaks of tropical woods and the iridescent reflections of metals, interpreted by the ceramic surfaces, are enhanced by the surface lapping, which alternates shiny and matt effects and makes Jatoba Brown a narrative material, dense with natural echoes, supported by impeccable technical and performance qualities.

The slabs, in 4D porcelain stoneware, thanks to full-body – the evolved technology of the Iris Ceramica Group of which SapienStone is part – are able to express material continuity throughout their thickness, lending themselves to complex design elaborations, profiling and cutting. The countertops of kitchens in wood or metal, the tops of tables and coffee tables, the shelving and shelves of storage units thus created naturally generate the visual and stylistic continuity so sought-after in interior design projects. sapienstone.com
