Opinione Ciatti participates in the Red in Italy exhibition

Opinion Ciatti participates in the exhibition Red in Italy – The colours of red in Italian design in Rome. Pepe, the stool designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti, has been selected for the exhibition project that Gruppo Campari dedicates to Italian excellence.

Pepe chosen as testimonial of Made in Italy excellence: the stool by Opinion Ciatti, featuring a unique seat in the shape of a horse saddle, is one of the design objects selected for the exhibition Red in Italy – The colours of red in Italian designconceived by Gruppo Campari with the patronage of Fondazione Altagamma, on show until 24 June in Rome at the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy.

The project curated by Francesca Valan together with FG Confalonieri and coordinated by Galleria Campari aims to explore the different meanings of the colour red, through a series of objects that have become an expression ofItalian spirit around the world. Starting from the iconic Campari red, the story unfolds of those 20th and 21st century creations fruit of Italian genius, which have contributed to the construction of Italy’s image abroad, interweaving not only design, but also art, culture and sociology.

Among these is Pepe, designed by Raffaella Mangiarotti in 2020 and produced for this exhibition in a special red variant (Pantone red 207). Pepe combines aesthetics and ergonomics with great naturalness and transforms a riding saddle into a seat. The result is an elegant, sinuous stool designed with precise rules to ensure correct posture: the right height to make working at a desk comfortable and an inclination of the base that forces weight forward, counterbalancing the tendency to bend when seated.

The Made in Italy craftsmanship for which it was chosen is fully expressed in the rigorously hand-sewn and hand-finished seat upholstered inaniline-tanned leather , a type of tanning that maintains the characteristics and marks that make each leather unique and unrepeatable. The Roman edition, which follows the one in Brussels in 2019, will be open to the public on Saturday 17 and 24 June 2023. opinionciatti.com
