Fantini Mosaici: Back to the Future

With a historical heritage generated over more than a century of activity, Fantini Mosaici pursues the values of tradition, art and beauty by making its expertise available in top-level projects destined for the most prestigious and exclusive venues in the world. On the occasion of Milan Design Week 2023, a fascinating site-specific intervention conceived by the AB+AC Architects studio of Arianna Bavuso and Andre Chedid will animate the space at Foro Bonaparte 68 where the brand will inaugurate its first showroom in Italy later this year. Back to the Future is the title of the installation that will enchant the design crowd with a hypnotic, visual and tactile experience that shows how one of the oldest craft techniques can be projected into the future.

The space is organised in a sequence of rooms that fragment the exhibition experience into two acts: beyond a dark room, where the visitor’s eyes can adjust before entering an immersive installation concealed by black curtains, a kaleidoscopic room is revealed. It is here that AB+AC Architects creates the illusion of a limitless universe, formed by a mixture of precious and raw stones that form a three-dimensional floor of floating pyramids framed by an infinite sequence of portals made of custom terrazzo. Visitors can thus virtually transcend physical limits and immerse themselves in a futuristic landscape of infinite possibilities where the past merges with the future.
