GTX, ID.7: a travel sedan

World debut of the GTX long-distance sports sedan planned for the IAA Mobility in late summer

  • After the ID.4 and ID.5, the ID.7 will be the third model to offer a GTX version
  • GTX stands for electric mobility and intelligent sportiness

Verona, Italy – Three weeks ago, Volkswagen unveiled its new all-electric saloon for the upper-middle class ID.7. The most dynamic variant of the model will follow in late summer with the world premiere of the ID.7 GTX1. Equipped with the latest generation of ID. powertrains, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system and a host of sporty design elements, the long-distance sedan now also has a high-performance version. The new GTX model is scheduled to be launched at the IAA Mobility in Munich (5-10 September 2023).

Black and red mean

Inside, details such as the GTX red contrast stitching on the seats, dashboard and doors enhance the model’s sportiness. The exterior design, on the other hand, features glossy black elements. Together with the standard black roof finish and tinted windows, these features confirm that the upcoming ID.7 GTX will also sport a powerful and distinctive appearance.

GTX – tuned for efficiency and driving pleasure

As on the previous ID.4 and ID.5 GTX models, the Vehicle Dynamics Manager is responsible for the intelligent control of the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system in the ID.7 GTX. This software, developed in-house by Volkswagen, always aims to achieve the optimum combination of efficiency, dynamics and driving stability. The Vehicle Dynamics Manager controls not only the powertrain, but also all braking, steering and chassis control systems, depending on the selected driving profile. The sedan’s chassis and steering have been significantly improved on the basis of the MEB modular electric platform and offer a wide range between comfort and sportiness thanks to the driving profile selection option. This underlines the ID.7 GTX’s status as the top model in the all-electric ID range.

GTX as a formula for success

The sporty GTX brand with its high-performance all-electric models has been part of Volkswagen’s offering for two years. The dynamic vehicles combine electric mobility, sustainability and intelligent sportiness. Their sporty design also underlines the special character and value content of the high-quality GTX models.
